We would like to proudly present, the high quality Classic Singer Treadle, Model 15-89 manufactured in 1938, New Jersey, Elizabeth according to Singer Co. This particular machine is 71 years old. The serial number is: #AF096669.

This machine is a beautiful example of this particular model. It is made with all metal parts. It is functional and is capable of producing excellent straight stitches with precision and the stitches can be regulated by size. Important to note is that the machine does not skip the stitches. The driving action of the machine is very smooth and accurate. This particular model is perfect for sewing rugged materials like jeans, leather and quilting.

The images show that there are some scratches on the cabinet and there is, also, evidence of loss of polish. The cabinet, however, is still in good condition, crafted well with all the parts securely fastened and does not wobble at all.

The old motor was replaced with a new one, also, manufactured by Singer Co. However, not the same as the original one. In order to attach the motor, some adjustments were made to fit the new motor on the old base. The old motor cradle was cut partially and a piece of wood was placed in between the new motor's holder and the old one's base to balance the machine. Actually, the reason why we replaced the old motor with a new one was because the plastic holder was old and so was the rubber on the wiring which was exposed and not insulated.
